Uhost (U1A) Tatubias Tweak 1.0

1 - this is Beta alpha stage (may not work perfect)
2 - i recommend before installing it do a factory reset or re install latest firmware (so we start from scratch)
3 - download the file
4 - un pack the file
5 - connect the uhost into the pc USE THE 2 USB CONNECTOR TO PLUG THE Uhost to your PC - connect it to the minu usb to the uhost
noteyou have to have already installed the usb driver)
6 - wait 5 minutes until has fully loaded (WAIT UNTIL IT FINISHIS TO BOOT ABOUT 2 - 5 MINUTES
7 - run patch.bat
8 - WAIT WAIT WAIT be patient
9 - reboot the uhost.
10 - plug it into your tv

a) i have installed Holo launcher. is like apex launcher or ics default launcher but you can customize your self.

h) you can ad any app into the /apk directory that will be automatically installed. (names should not have spaces)

I run the upgrade with LiveSuit so drivers works, but patch wont find device.

Does step 5 mean to plug to miniUSD port? And should i press and hold the Udisk button?

Thanks for the patch, i discovered some new coll apps.

Andropos:

0 - connect the device using mini usb connector and in the pc use the 2 usb connectors
1 - install last firmware
2 - reboot the device (wait until it boots) 2 - 5 minutes (first boot is slow)
3 - run the patch.bat (if it says that it did not find any device run it again some time it takes more time to detect)

To change the ponter is very easy (but you can soft brick the device)
1 - copy the /system/framework/framework-res.apk to your pc. (use 7zip)
2 - un compress it.
3 - search for the pointer icon.
4 - edit it and put the one you want (dont modify the type of file only edit the file and draw what you want)
5 - no you need to PUT that zip and overwrite it on the framework-res.apk (dont re compress the directory) open the zpk and put inside the icon in the same place that it was before. you can do the same with the background.

6 - run the following commands from a folder that you have the ADB files on. update the path [b]files/system_framework/[b] to the one you have it.

adb push files/system_framework/framework-res.apk /system/app/framework-res.apk
adb shell chown 0.0 /system/app/framework-res.apk
adb shell chmod 644 /system/app/framework-res.apk
adb shell mv /system/app/framework-res.apk /system/framework/framework-res.apk

regarding to the icon if you want we can change it for other in the next release. send me the files and we can see what we can do.

HALO configuration:
regarding halo i left it by default so you can configure as you with. i did left a back up of my configuration on the \files\com.mobint.hololauncher.hd directory you can overwrite this files with the one you have in the device into /data/data/com.mobint.hololauncher.hd

this can be implemented next time. but as you know how it looks is very personal so i left a launcher as similar as ics possible.

hide status and power button and volume buttoms were already implemented. nothing change there (i listed as a feature that is not found in other media players firmware)

the hide bar can be turn off from ---> settings ---> Display ---> hide status bar.

this version only can allwayas hide status bar. you wont see it.)

i have realize that i have to update the script this will be done for the next version.


1 - The holo launcher will be installed independently if you install external apps or not
2 - i will try to push the configuration files but don know if it will work.


any other recommendation if it is possible and good will be implemented.

To make the label icons are not cut. enter holo settings. change the amount of icons per line an will update the screen.

i like 6 x 9 icons. it looks perfect.

Thanks for the update i will test the pointer hack, the reason im asking is cos i saw that the ATV100 had a nice and bigger pointer then the default one.

Other thing i noticed after the patch is that it takes much longer too boot compered with the latest firmware.

I will do some more testing tomorrow and report.

probably it does takes longer due load much more applications when boot you can remove the ones you dont use like.
