My own photos of the Uhost:

Does anybody knows what the small green board over the SD slot is?

The USB AC adapter should have min 2.0A to provide enough power.Last edited by andropos; 09-13-2012 at 03:52 PM.

boot linux / charger?
I can't find info on whether or not the Uhost U1A can boot ubuntu Linux from the SD card, similar to the MK802? Will the same linux images out there for the MK802 work for the Uhost U1A also? This thing requires a charger? Does it not just get power off the USB port?

small green board -
On the right hand side of the picture there is a line that snakes back and forth. That is an antenna. At the far left there are two ports labeled D+ and D- which represent differential data lines. Basically this card is used for RF communication.

I talked to an RF engineer I work with before I posted as I am a digital hardware engineer. I asked if the antenna looked appropriate for 2.4 GHz frequency. He said that it looks like an antenna for 2.4 GHz. I believe the remote works at 2.4 GHz like 802.11 b and g. 802.11 n works at 5 GHz. When I have a chance to chat with one of the RF engineers, I will try and get an answer.

I am in on the group deal already. I just don't like opening up devices without screws unless I need to repair something. I have accidentally broken off plastic tabs in the past.
