Unofficial Android 4.0.3 Firmware with Market and Google Apps [build 2]
Made a custom built firmware for Teclast P76TI. It is based on the latest LY-F1 and teclast ICS firmwares, and also has market built in (and working). The top buttons are also remapped to volume up and volume down instead of being menu and back (which are present at the bottom of the screen anyway)
The downloads also contain the LiveSuite from Ainol, as that also works on Windows 7 x64
There are two builds, one for tablets with a Goodix touch screen controller (revisions 1-3). Chose this if the other teclast ICS firmwares WORK on your device, as they are only support this touch screen controller:
http://android.sztupy.hu/dl/a10/Tecl....3_GAPPS_r2.7z
The other is for tablets which have an F5TX touch screen controller (rev4, built after 15 dec 2011). Choose this if you have recently bought the tablet and you find that other teclast ICS firmwares do NOT work on your tablet (as they lack support for this touch screen driver):
http://android.sztupy.hu/dl/a10/Tecl....3_GAPPS_r2.7z
Main changes are:
1. Only the base AOSP apps, the File Manager and Video Player is included
2. But you have both Market and most Google Apps (Google Plus and Car Home is missing)
3. Menu and Back top buttons are remapped to Volume Up/Volume Down, can be changed though.
4. It also works on newer Teclast tablets, with f5tx touchscreen controllers
5. Added a simple app called AllwinnerMod, to easily change the build.prop on the fly
The AllwinnerMod app can be used to change the tablet's build.prop to "SGS2" for games that think your tablet is not compatible with them (and change back if you want to). You can also remap the physical buttons with it, so for example you can change how the back and home buttons work with it. You can also switch with it to "phone" mode, by changing the dpi settings if you don't like the tablet mode of ICS. All this on-the-fly without using adb.
Changelog:
r1: initial build
r2: fixed su and build.prop. Added AllwinnerMod application

What's the difference between this build and the official 4.0.3 ?

Ah thanks, my question was more about the system build, if yours is based on a newer one then the official, or is it the same ?
Regarding the button remap, is it possible to navigate even on pre ICS apps which run full screen (like games) ?
Also a question about Gapps included: does it have a working Calendar app and Talk ?
I'm currently downloading both builds and I'm deciding which to install :]
[edit] To make it clear, by official I mean the P76TI-android-4.0.3-7AB2.rar, I noticed you posted your version *before* this one was posted.Last edited by madd0g; 02-15-2012 at 10:16 PM.

It is based on the LY-F1 ICS, as it seemed more stable for me than the Teclast one. I only used some of the hardware libs from the Teclast build because the camera and gsensors were not working. I didn't really run benchmarks however to determine which one is the best. For me the teclast one is unusable as I have a newer, rev4 tablet, so no touch-screen for me in the official ICS

The bottom bar is always visible even in games. It can only be removed by an application if it is made for ICS and allows you some other way to use the navigational features. (For example the MX video player can remove the bottom bar, but when it does this it also creates a back and a home button when you touch the screen during movie watching for you to be able to go "back")Regarding the button remap, is it possible to navigate even on pre ICS apps which run full screen (like games) ?
Neverthless the HOME button is always available so you can use that to go back to the main screen if an application hangs.
By the way the button mappings can be changed using "adb" anytime. I will write and include an app for the next release to do this.
Just tried: Both gtalk and calendar works. I can chat on gtalk and I can see my appointments in the calendar. Also a question about Gapps included: does it have a working Calendar app and Talk ?http://android.sztupy.hu

Yeah, I've seen your post about camera and sensors not working on it. Good that we have official libs then :] I have the older build, but 4.0.3 is 4.0.3 anyway + I prefer a working, tested version with Gapps - like yours.
Thanks for the explanation. Guess I wont miss those buttons then. The bottom bar is always visible even in games. It can only be removed by an application if it is made for ICS and allows you some other way to use the navigational features. (For example the MX video player can remove the bottom bar, but when it does this it also creates a back and a home button when you touch the screen during movie watching for you to be able to go "back")

By the way the button mappings can be changed using "adb" anytime. I will write and include an app for the next release to do this.
Great ! I couldn't get those to work with older 4.0 and the Gapps script from lordsbm. Another reason to flash your well prepared build.Just tried: Both gtalk and calendar works. I can chat on gtalk and I can see my appointments in the calendar.
Thanks alot for prompt replies and the help !

I only tested the rev4 build (I only own that tablet), so the other one might not work (though I doubt this). If it doesn't boot or has any other problems please tell me.
There is one bug however which I will fix tomorrow: su is not working. It can be fixed easily using adb though:
Code:adb remount adb shell busybox chmod 6711 /system/bin/su adb shell busybox chmod 6711 /system/xbin/su adb shell reboot

Just upgraded from 2.3.4 to 4.0.3... And what I can say? I like new BOOT screen, root and thats all.... G sensor not working, camera too, youtube dont work (installed flash player 11), and it seems a little bit laggy. Now searching again 2.3.4 firmware... But it is better release than 4.0.1

Ok, flashed it. Camera crashed on 1st boot, but worked ok after I rebooted the tablet at permission change.
Touchscreen works fine, whole tablet is way responsive then on the previous 4.0.1 build. Quite amazing.
Gapps work without hitch, Youtube works excellent (can finally ditch the browser for that).
Btw, when trying to apply the permissions change, I got this :
d:\_phone\_teclast>adb shell busybox chmod 6711 /system/xbin/sh
chmod: /system/xbin/sh: No such file or directory
Also Titanium Backup or Adfree said that root ain't possible. Su updater failed. Any ideas ?Last edited by madd0g; 02-16-2012 at 02:16 AM.
