Hey guys...a new firmware has been released

SmartQ SmartQ Ten3 Android4.0 V4.0

"Changes and new features:

The firmware upgrade to Android4.0.4.
Enhance the use of the touch screen experience.
Optimize the function and effect of the camera.
Bug fixes:

Reduces system power consumption.
Flash Video support issues to solve some sites.
Solve turned off, plug the USB cable will automatically boot."


Nothing said about bluetooth but i'm really curious about the performance increase and if the touch screen issues have been solved. Also...this would be the first chinese tablet with Android 4.0.4

Bechmark results are the same as ICS 4.0.3 but sync now works with Google Calendar...no more touch screen issues while charging...camera works and has more options, google play fully working...no bluetooth. Will be interesting to see if the power drainage is really better without editing the build.prop (modifying the .prop will give a battery drainage of 1% per 6 hours!!).

Good to hear that SmartQ was so quick on releasing this update for Ten3, must be the first Chinese tablet that gets 4.0.4.
I guess this was possible cos of the strong support for Android on TI solution.

will567 mentioned a faster screen rotation and improved camera stability, can you confirm?

Hmm the screen rotation is "slightly" better....the camera is still average...well i didn't buy my tab for the camera as my girlfriend has a Nikon D5100 DLSR camera
Overall i'm loving it!!!

No problem whatsoever...for me the battery life isn't that great...almost 5 hours with some playing, installing/uninstalling, wifi on/off etc. Ehhh...charged it only one time and perhaps the reflashing drained the battery and i haven't noticed.
Anyway...i don't have the problem u mention.....set the battery to indicate in % and it's pretty accurate.

Well it seems the guys from Smart devices messed up this firmware...the battery drain is horrible (even though they stated the power consumption has been lowered!). My tablet seems to drain juice even when turned off completely!! (1% every 3 hours or so) even if in this mode it shouldn't even drain 1% per day or more. My tablet won't last me 5 hours no matter what i do sooooooooooo i'm going to ICS 4.0.3 cause it's better from this point of view.
Maybe they'll fix this in their next firmware cause it's a real shame...i love my tab but i don't wanna turn off the backlight for an extra hour of functioning
