Debian/Xfce on Ainol Paladin

Tried this a few months back on my shiny new paladin and couldn't seem to get it to work properly. will try again in a week or two when i have time. my internet is slow so i have to give it a few hours to download this package. hopefully im not as much of a noob anymore :P thanks for the hard work youre putting into this

Do you have working sound?

Alas, the sound driver in paladin is not compatible with alsa. And no source code for it is available AFFAIR. I've started to try discovering it recently, but suddenly my tablets touchscreen stopped working. They say it's a very common problem for paladin, lot of people complained about the same issue. And I'm really in doubt about spending $30 to repair the device which costs $80 without any idea if the same fault happens again... (((

How do you know this? Is it strictly incompatible or is it that it just can't be done so long as Android is holding onto the DSP?
