Anyone starting to believe me and others yet that the 4.03 upgrade floating around is not the official Ainol 4.03 upgrade for the Paladin Knight and is dangerous? Be patient people and wait for the official upgrade. All good things come to those who wait. I am sure Ainol wants to remain on top and will get it to us as soon as possible.

Hey there so how do we find out about the official upgrade?? Again I'm new to this, does it happen automatically? Do I have to download it?

Go to the Chinese Ainol web site and run it through Google translate. There is a list there of all approved and official software for download. Download it to your computer and put it on a micro SD card to put in your tablet.

Copied to the SD, power/vol +, first time shut down at ~20% (I think it may have just went to sleep). Ran it a second time (touching the screen every 30s or so just in case the problem with the first pass was sleeping) and completed no problem. Dolphin works now too

The upgrade is most likely ICS 4.0.3 that has been ported from the Novo 7 Elf (I believe is the one Ainol released with 4.0.3) in order to work with the Paladin. The chances of it damaging your device in any permanent fashion are highly improbable. Reports of software with the ability to damage physical hardware are generally exaggerated.

It could, however, contain malware which has the ability to comprimise your personal information.

    Is it dangerous? Mehhh..

It may not be dangerous in terms of damaging the tablet but it is causing problems and people are obviously struggling then to return it to factory 4.0.1.....So im avoiding like the plague.
