Question Anyone have a working on Paladin/Knight 4.0.1 VOIP app other than Skype?

I am looking for a VOIP app that will run on the Paladin/Knight under 4.0.1 other than Skype. I am also looking for an app that will do real texting, not just app to app. Thanks in advance for any help.

as of the moment, for mips support, at least for Paladin is concerned,
your not going to see anything right now working, ive tried all the known
voips and some one's not soo known, and none seem to work for this tablet.

im aware we dont have a built-in cam that would support video, but even with
voice chat support, i would be thrilled. ive come down with two applications that
sorta give you the video/voice, but as i said before, its not the whole package.

    PhoneMyPC
    https://market.android.com/details?i...orme.PhoneMyPC

this app will allow you to use a webcam & voice, it does work, and im using it on this tablet.
how it works is this, you can connect to your pc, or a friend who is running the software on
their pc, and you can view a webcam, and hear audio from that pc. the video is choppy,
but its better than nothing, no it doesnt support picture in picture video with two different cams,
its either one cam or nothing.

the other app for voice text ive been using is :

    imo instant messenger
    https://market.android.com/details?i....android.imoim

this app actually has an option above the text area to record your voice, and send it
via an mp3 from their service, so in a way...its sorta voice, but not in realtime. it works and
ive been using it for a few weeks, so far my favorite chat application.

now for Skype, there is an open thread for support at their website :
Ainol Novo 7 Basic - MIPS Platform - Development S... - Skype Support Network

and i would encourage everyone who wants Skype mips to post there and voice
your support for this application, so we can keep on them and hopefully get a working
    one soon.

    ~hope that helps~

Don't know about Paladin, but I imagine it would work, I have a Basic with 4.0.3 and MagicCode 1.3, I use Google Voice (0.4.2.44) and when it is set up with a Google Voice phone number, which last I looked was free but I think only available in the US, it is capable of sending and receiving SMS and with gVoice (in the market for $4.99) it can make VoIP phone calls. In fact just tested SMS to and from my cell phone, works fine.

Oh, another comment about using the VoIP, you have to use ear phones or there will be lots of echo. The mic will pickup everything it hears from the speaker.

Got voip working with Novo7 Paladin

After a lot of digging around I found this post. Which points to a mips build of CSipSimple.
I can now make a receive phone calls from my Paladin - yay!
