There was a firmware update for the Paladin posted on Jan 10th @ Ainol's website:
    ÏÂÔØÖÐÐÄ - °¬Åµµç×Ó

Thank you Andropos for the instructions. I have a few notes that might clarify some questions.

When you unrar the package, the program you want to run (USBbootTool.exe) will be in the folder "升级工具".

If you get an error when you first run the program then go to your control panel, click "Clock, Language, and Region" then "Region and Language". From the new window that pops up, click the "Administrative" tab. Click the button that says "Change system locale..." and select "Chinese (Simplified, PRC)". This will correct some sort of Unicode error and will allow the program to run smoothly (For those running Windows 7).

Step 1: Once you have the program running, you will need to select "Jz4770" under where it says "CPU型号:" in the upper right hand corner, if it is not already selected.

Step 2: The program will ask for seven files. Don't let this confuse you, as all you need are four. The four necessary files are located in the "NOVO7骑士固件" folder. To load the files click the "打开..." buttons to the right of the drop down menus.

The first three files (mbr-xboot.bin, boot.img, and system.img) all match the requested file names next to the check boxes, however the last one (vfat.bin) is actually "novo7骑士(8G).IMA".

Finally, Make sure the boxes are checked when you flash.

    New features/fixes

Can anyone point out any new features or fixes from this firmware update? If this resolves the Google account issue, then I may be interested.

I manage to flash the update, but to my suprise, the NAND was not detected at all! I only have 1 GB for the main memory and 16GB from my SD card. I've used it for around one day, and there is a lot of bugs/apps that not works/install correctly. Here I list apps that were removed:
    - Spiderman
    - Angry Birds
    - MobileManager
    - all the Chinese apps

Also, I notice that the wifi issue is not solved. Any help on how to go back to factory firmware?

I'm not quite sure how corrupted your device is at this point, but if you're able to you might try installing ClockworkMod (ClockworkMod for Ingenic JZ4770/JZ4760 tablets | androtab.info) and then installing ICS 4.0.3 (http://tabletrepublic.com/forum/aino...c-n7p-555.html) which apparently solves the wifi problem. In addition, you can download the original APKs from the Ainol website (ÏÂÔØÖÐÐÄ - °¬Åµµç×Ó, 2nd download link "艾诺NOVO7骑士APK包")

Thanks for the detailed instructions, i just make a quick guide before going to bed.

To further clarify this post i have changed the thread title, as this is the factory firmware and all devices come preloaded with this version.
The latest update is to 4.0.3 and can be upgraded via SD card.
