I have tried everything I can think of to no avail. Different firmwares, all the 4's, some 3.2's. I have cleared the cache and data when in the recovery boot screen but nothing seems to work. Kind of at a loss as what to do next really.

If had sam problems too, downloaded the official firmware, pressed POWER and VOL+ together, released VOL+ when the Ainol Basic logo appeared and released POWER when the android logo appeared (with an exclamation mark or a weird animation :P) then pressed the "Home button" for the update menu console and tried to force the update manually. Updater said that package is corrupted so I've downloaded the zip mentioned in this thread. Applied the same steps, worked fine. But the official did not have Market and few google apps so I followed the instructions in this thread and now I'm happy Hope it helps.

Thanks for the reply. I downloaded the firmware you mention and tried flashing after clearing everything I can from the Ainol recovery screen but it still does the same. Say's it has installed correctly then prompts for a reboot, upon reboot sits at the ainol boot screen and won't progress any further.

How long have you waited? At first but from what I can conclude android starts off with nothing in cache so the load time can be long (for booting), mine took about 4-6min after updating

I have left it alone on the boot screen for over an hour on several different occasions and each time I try and reflash I wait for between 15 and 20 mins. Still no joy.

Try to setup ADB connection to your device and check the boot logs info here. To install the device use these drivers (you might have to remove all usb mass storage drivers to force windows to reinstall). I did not test this idea though, since using 'usb debbuging' is available after tablet boots. Reinstalling drivers is kinda risky, who knows how windows will behave, mine reinstalled the drivers without side effects

Note: I meant forcing reinstall by removing drivers is risky, not the reinstall process alone

Ok, I have connected the Novo7 basic to my pc, installed all the adb stuff and the drivers.

I just ran "adb get-serialno" in the command prompt and it returned Novo7 Basic so there is hope, maybe.

Thanks for all the help so far. Got to work out how to get the logs now.

I have been having a play with adb and the tablet. When I try and run a logcat or bugreport I get the following message.

    - exec '/system/bin/sh' failed: No such file or directory (2) -

I have the Android ADB Interface driver installed for the tablet.

Any ideas? Not really sure where to go from here.

    Thanks.

I've never used adb myself, but I'm curious: how did you connect the tablet to the pc if it didn't boot past the splash screen?
