For Windows 7 64bit, did you try the drivers that were posted on this page by Superbee?

This solved my Unknown Device issue.

Thx a lot for your anwser LazyDogNet, what Superbee posted seems to help but it's not quite right on my machine... So I'm gonna write what happens to me, maybe it's just a broken piece of hardware/firmware? Anyway, thanks for helping, if I can't fix it in the next day or two I'm gonna try to get refund.

First of all, when I look at the Unknown Device "Hardware ID" from the device manager it shows exactly "USB\UNKNOWN" instead of some numbers identifying the device.

Secondly, by using the files supplied by Superbee "as is", instead of finding an Android ADB interface driver, the device manager tries to add a Samsung Android USB Driver (see picture for yourself).

In another field, I can see VID_0000&PID_0000 which I've found on a microsoft support page that it means a bad driver or unrecognised device... rly nothing helpful but a confirmation of my problem.

I'm logging off for the night so again, thank you

I had a problem with connecting the device for usage width ADB on my Win7 x86-64. The first time I have installed the drivers it worked great, but after a reboot Windows stopped recognising my device :/ Finally managed to fix the problem by removing all the USB drivers for the devices and for my normal Composite devices which forced windows to reinstall them completely. Then I toggled USB Debug Mode on my tablet and got an Unknown Device in device manager. From there I've managed to install the drivers from this post and now everything works fine. I know your problem is different but maybe It will help.

Oh, almost forgot! To remove the devices I've used a combination of USBDeview and normal device manager. And since my Windows did not show any 'new' devices after connecting my tablet I've had to disable UAC for my account in "Start Menu -> Control Panel -> User Accounts and Family Safety -> User Account", then windows started showing all the unrecognised devices."
