Hi. look here. I'm afraid v 3.0.xx is only at mips.com somewhere in developer's section.

    Hello,
I am also looking for the kernel source for ICS release on Novo 7 Basic. I did download the kernel from developer.mips.com and it is 3.0.8 but it does not seem to have support for the JZ4770, only JZ4740-based systems.
Ainol did a release of the official ICS ROM here: support

So that means that they must have source for 3.08 kernel with JZ4770 support along with the ICS framework but I cannot find it. If anyone has any info on where this can be found and they can post it here, that'd be excellent.

    Hi.
i downloaded ICS release from ainovo but it stopped in the middle of updating. So i flashed 4.0.1_20111221. No market, no 3G, wiifi breaking from time to time, vibrator unstoppable.
Confusingly, the "About" says kernel is 3.08 and ES File Manager -> Manager -> About -> Property reports 2.6.32.9-svn1087. So does "cat /proc/version" in terminal.
Probably, they don't have operational 3.08.

can you checkif you have a /proc/config.gz? they seem to removed the build config file from their builds, that makes things eaven harder

Unfortunately, they is no config.gz. May be it will be possible to extract it from the kernel in boot.img or somehow via adb. I hadn't yet figured that out.

The config.gz in the FS is a kernel compile time option so if it's not there then they never compiled it in. Doubt you can find it afaik.

I wonder if it's possible to run ICS on top of an older kernel. Anyway the 3.0.8 source code for the Novo7 Basic would be ideal to be able to get. They kernel should be released according to the open source license if the contract was actually upheld.
