Ainol Novo 7 Basic Android 4.0 Upgrade Guide

Novo 7 Basic finally got 4.0 firmware upgrade, i would like to create a thread with an upgrade guide when users can discuss the 4.0 firmware in one place.

The upgrade procedure is taken from comment from users, let me know if anything should be changed.

    Upgrade Steps:
    • Download and copy update.zip to an empty micro sd card
    • Turn of the device (make sure its charged before you proceed)
    • Insert micro SD card into the device
    • Press and hold the Volume + key and press power button
    • When you see the Ainol logo, release both buttons
    • Wait till the upgrade is complete (this will take few min)
    • Device will reboot after upgrade

Hey folks, my first post here, but I've done the ICS update and I can't get root using the method that was used for the 3.2 roms, SuperOneClick just crashes.
I've been battling with adb to push the su executable over to /system/bin and /system/xbin and set the permissions, unfortunately, that still does not work. So, I'm stuck.
Bear in mind, I'm using the ClockworkMod Recovery image to get r/w access to /system.

If root is essential to you, DO NOT UPGRADE YET

I'll keep experimenting, and I'll keep you posted.
    Wish me luck.

It's official, but not final, the next release should be at some point in January, which is when the update will be pushed Over The Air

The installation issues are because of the MIPS core, not because of the OS.
But give it a bit and cross compilation may become a standard.
