No you cannot yet until the developers make their apps work on MIPS technology or until some kind of emulator software is bundled within Android OS to run apps on MIPS. That is why this tablet is cheap.

I have given up on ICS for now and have flashed back to HoneyComb.
There were stability issues and I want root access too.

I'll reflash to ICS with the next release of ICS.

    Best of luck you guys.

    Thanks for ICS.
Btw, like to feedback the following are not working:
    - Google Talk (Not installed)
    - Google Reader (Error: Accessing Google Account causing Android has stopped working)
    - Google+ (Not compatible in market and can't install using the apk)

    Cool

Should be clear advice. Even in 3.2 it can be hit & miss what's working and what's not. No Rooting and Games for me, just playing with an inexpensive "toy".

Still no luck upgrading to ICS. Aborts at the "sys.img" line. Tried two different downloads one from this site and the other from
merimobles site where I purchase the ainol novo 7 basic.
FYI it took me awhile to rename the file to update.zip first I look at the file itself and found it read update.zip.zip a bell went off
not to add zip from the file I downloaded but to rename it to "update " the rom will read update.zip when its upgrading just some issues I had hope this answers someone out there who is trying to figure it out. thanks

On the Aino.com site the ICS version is 20120105. That seems to be the latest version. Has anyone tried it yet? Feedback would be appreciated, thanks

I'm trying now to upgrade the filmware 20120105 from the site still haven't had any luck "flashing" I will flash until it takes. I've notice that it flashes sometimes, by that I mean, I will flash from 3.2 to ICS than back from ICS to 3.2 to work in both versions. I find now that it will stop 3/4 of the way in and go blank so I press the pwr button and the "android bot" comes a calling only to go into a loop at the login page. I hope this flash of the new version is better but until I can flash 100% I cannot give feedback yet.

I know this is going to sound bleeding obvious,

But with no market working, has anyone tried flashing the CM9 Gapps package through CWM?

I haven't actually received my basic yet (going home tomorrow, where it was apparently delivered), but I'll try to knock up a custom rom at some point when I do.
