I download both the updates...the xboot and the ICS that it posted here. I'm not sure if I am trying to update correctly or not.
I downloaded the files
Unzipped
Renamed it to update.zip
Transferred to SD
Put the SD in the Novo
Held the Vol + button and the power button
It started like it was updating then about half way through it just stopped and rebooted to the home screen
Am I doing something wrong?

do you have a 3 pin....(i dont know what the device is called...ermm...adapter) to go with your 'china' 2 pin charger? maybe its not correctly connected..
You downloaded the file
* dont unzip...
just rename it to "update"...(its already a .zip file..)Last edited by lock; 12-24-2011 at 02:57 PM.

I have the charger for the US. single connection. It does charge, but it has never gotten over 85%, even with being on the charger for 8+ hours. I've emailed the company I bought it from, but no reply as of yet.

OK.
I do have an issue with connecting via USB. I worked around it buy installing Hi Suite and connecting over Wi-Fi, at least I can access the microSD card. I tried to connect via USB with Hi Suite, but the other program(WanDouJia) takes control. I can't seem to find that program on my device.

Installed the ICS....love it. It fixed a lot of my issues. I haven't tried too much with it. Just cleaning off some of the apps that are in Chinese. I was able to connect on the wi-fi and was FINALLY able to connect to my PC via USB.

a factory reset clears all the chinese apps...makes novo 7 zippier and more smooth. You can still access the apks that came with the update zip with astro or root explorer.

NovoB 4.0 apps
Much better results with apps on 4.0 that were not accessible on 3.2. But I still cannot access Netflix. Any suggestions?

Ok, the 4.0.1 firmware is now running very smooth (I have also removed some Chinese apps), but the web browser seems to have a serious bug. When I try to navigate to a web page, the browser is loading forever and the performance of the whole system is going down, so it is completely unusable. Only a restart solves the performance problem.
Do you have the same issue and a workaround? I have also tried Dolphin Browser HD, but it does also not load the websites correctly.
