    now you should see it.

The inside cable goes to the left leg of the antenna, while the outside part you should solder to the metallic frame around the WIFI chip.
can see it very well on the picture. also don't forget to disconnect the Screen or you can damage the thin cables.

I was thinking about doing an antenna mod as well. Was wondering if you could re-upload the picture which shows the placement of the antenna?

And whether you made a deliberate choice between the antenna from the router (which i'm thinking is one of those round sorts?) and the film antenna in the tutorial you linked? or was it just handy?

    Hi gossamer88.
I can upload the pictures later tonight because I am traveling now with a very week internet connection but for now...
the choice was deliberate, as a 5dbi router antenna is more powerful than a 2-3dbi print antenna.

    Stay tuned

    Wow quick reply thanks!

This is going to be my very first attempt at modding any hardware so I want to be very sure about what I'm doing before I start.

Any thoughts on the suggestion in the page at the link below that any length of 16 gauge wire will suffice for a replacement antenna?

Sorry aaww byt I'm a little bit confused with other in contrast to other similar threads. We solder the inner part with the antenna and the outer part to where? on the wifi chip?
Because I'll take out a wifi antenna from an old laptop which has to cables. one is the inner part. should i solder the other cable to the outer part? thanx

no need to answer aaww. this link helped me a lot
    NOVO7

I did nt know that the main cable had a center cable and a peripheral around it. Soldered it and I'm good to go now i can see 4 ssids' which i could nt see them before. wifi boost signal at least 100% up!! and the wifi antenna was from a hp mini netbook, a broken one, from a customer.
Note: Maybe there are two kinds of novo 7 advanced with different wifi chip. Mine did nt have a metallic frame. it had asolder path around it which was the ground. i soldered there the other end there.
