    Window N101 10.1-inch RK3066 disassembled

    inline image
We can expect many of new RK3066 dual-core devices hit the market after Window's resent N90 Dual-core release. Window is already working a new device and below are photos of an engineering prototype of coming Window N101.

Window (Yuandao) N101's main difference over N90 Dual-core is a 10.1-inch 1280 x 800 resolution display, the rest of the configuration is basically the same. No info on release date or pricing yet.

    Following text translated via Goolgle.

Got only a test of engineering prototype, so the hands of the machine firmware is very unstable, is almost an impossible thing you want to complete the test, so performance testing can only be launched until the new firmware and then do the test a. After the consent of the original tract, this time we intend to open inside the machine to take a look at.

N101 around the body screws, snaps structure of the fuselage combination, the player to start from the back cover on

Note rear camera, carefully taken down can be separated from the back cover

The internal structure and RK models, motherboards, speakers, screen, battery, interface, buttons, etc., are affixed to the back of the display, the battery is part of a single framework with peripheral devices are separated, the overall structure look fairly reliable. (Of course, engineering machine, a lot of screws or screwed on, the formal machinery is certainly not), the most striking part of the course, battery, battery pack on the engineering prototype is a concatenation of two 3.7V 3600mAh battery, the edge black tape fixed.

The right is the circuit board, the small size of the board, only about 1/4 of the rear area of the master and cache on the flash memory chip covered with a layer of graphite thermal envelope in order to improve the cooling effect. The N101's built-in speaker is fixed with hot, if you are completely disassembled in the bottom right you can see, must be electric iron to the two lines of the speaker to solder down.

The left of the three close-up of the control chip, VTL365 domestic flat-panel products touch control chip WM8326G Wolfson's power management chip, the right-most Rockchip chip RK610-G should be a screen control chip. (RK610-G chip data is relatively small, if there is understanding, it touches very much hope that under details)

RK3066 master chip after they opened the graphite heat layer, master the right side of the four South Asian Yi Sheng cache (NT5CB256M8BN-CG) monolithic 256MB, 256MB × 4 just 1GB; the left side and under side of the two the tablets Micron memory (29F64G08CBAAA), monolithic 8GB, two add up to total of 16GB.

The middle with a metal shield, RK903 is a set of WiFi, Bluetooth and FM radio in one of the multi-function chip

The most left side of the fuselage is metal WiFi antenna distant from the circuit board, the interference should be relatively small

Remove the battery and you can see the screws framework, and the bottom of the screen part of the copper foil shield under the 101PWW1-A00 is the number of the screen, this is a John Choi, 10.1-inch IPS screen with a resolution of 1280 × 800, the number of hair color for 262K, allegedly the brightness up to 350cd / ㎡ contrast ratio of 600:1, viewing angle of up to 89/89/89/89.

Unscrew screw the circuit board to remove can be seen after the N101 using the screen ID, 6K00109A1AA1B1723R202532WZDC

Black wrapped part of the control circuit and the screen with simple looked at, and driver chips with ORISE TECH (SUN) OTC3106A

Hand without the right tools, so it is not further dismantling (I guess I restore difficult). Taken together, the original Road N101 internal work quite satisfactory, the basic structure of solid (BTW: RK3066 integration also pricey, with this relationship), the battery part of the framework can be regarded as relatively good, the overall structural design of a domestic the middle level of the flat-panel manufacturers, the formal product detail section (such as WiFi antenna, battery cable part) slightly adjusted, I believe that the look and feel better.

I like it too. It would be near perfect if it used LPDDR ram.

I ordered the Cube U30GT from pandawill ~$225 incl delivery , BUT there are major issues with the speakers, very tiny sound comes out and also issues with the Wi-fi. There are rumors that Cube are charging the antennae to a metallic one to improve signal strength so no more cube for me.

The N101 seems to have exactly the same spec, are there any reviews or does anybody know when it is expected to come out?

    Regards, Aris

well, dont know if exactly the same. The cube U30GT have an ambient light sensor to adjust the screen brightness in the fly. I dont know if this have that too.

Of course there will be few minor differences but i don't think that extra will convince people to buy the Cube over the N101, especially when the cube has such a terrible sound issues ...

Looks like a nice solid tablet and the high res screen is a plus. Nice to see the touch screen chip on the mainboard rather and in-line on a ribbon cable too.

Is this tablet out yet? I heard it was supposed to be released by the mid of June. But haven't heard anything ever since. The tablet looks quite solid, but hopefully they ironed out all the issues that plagued the window n90 dual core.
