This one is interesting. Normally I'll just grab one on pre-order but after the foul-up of the other quad core solution, i will wait for a hands-on review before buying. i will be keeping a close eye on this.

Kingbrowne is true! If Allwinner A31 is like Freescale i.MX6Q it would be another hole in the water.

Also Ampe, Teclast, Icoo test an Allwinner A31 quad core solution.

Allwinner A31 is it A9 core?
    Thanks.

As wlf said....the Freescale solution is a total disaster. Go take a look at the Sanei / Ampe N10 Quad core thread.

From the very first look, Dro proclaimed that the devise was not ready for public distribution and it never got better even after new firmware.

The only upside is that it has brought some traffic to the site as the unit sells for $225.00 on Ebay and buyers come looking for answers.

It is interesting that the allwinner solution come in around the same price point!!!!

All the articles linked from this thread are based on one and same Chinese source, and they only mention the specs not real life tests. I saw that even engadget reposted about Onda V972 and there is now a new hype around this device and solution.

Rockhip was not far behind to cool down the hype with their one quad-core solution RK3188 which looks much more promising but Rockchip is always few weeks/months behind with ready mass produced units, which is most cases is a good thing.

I will try to get my hands on one of these A31 units asap and report back.
