Ainol Novo7 Basic gets Android 3.2 update
Time to point the attention on Ainol Novo7 Basic now, which can now brag about its latest Android 3.2 firmware.
Ainol Novo7 Basic is powered by Ingenic Xburst (JZ4770) chipset (see more info here) and since the company behind it have some special deal with Google and got the Android Market license, i looks like they now also have the source code to Honeycomb.

Lets hope Allwinner release an update for Novo7 Advanced soon, at least this will put pressure on other manufacturers. Rockchip already announced working on 4.0, expected to be released beginning of next.
App icon look crazy big for people used to large high-res screens, but for us who are stuck on 2.2-2.3 and 7-inch 800x480 screen it looks.... just beautiful..... :-)Last edited by andropos; 10-31-2011 at 05:18 PM.

is that genuine or honeycomb user interface?
would be great to see honeycomb on the Novo 7 advanced!
second thoughts, it looks too detailed for a user interface hack... so lets hope for more news soon.Last edited by GFZ; 10-31-2011 at 06:31 PM.

I think all the chip companies now are focus on 4.0 now.

if we can easy to update to 4.0. why we need work on 3.2 again. it will take couple month for fix bug and stable the system.then after that when you have 3.2 , others have 4.0, what you going to do... The only good thing is , at least other companies feel some Pressure on it. the will rush for 4.0. lol

The honeycomb firmware for Basic is genuine, I'm using it right now with external keyboard. The firmware is not stable and I have problems with Google accont, once you input the account there will be some force close.
Market works
Preinstalled games works
Gsensor with game works
WiFi works
Browser works
Overall the device with 3.2 feels very smooth.

As i mentioned the firmware is far from stable, im sure there will be an update very soon. I think i will roll back to 2.2 as it is now the 3.2 firmware is not ready. Most apps wont work, and Wifi is not very stable (could be my router).
