Hi there I am a complete novice but thanks to these threads I've been able to update the script and install most market apps so a round of applause is deserved to the original poster. My only problem is that I cannot install some market apps and I think this is region specific. I live in the UK and would like to know what I need to update in the build.prop so that I can install some extra apps, any help would be greatly appreciated thanks!

    Hi

Hello Mate i Installed the adb drivers and everything went fine.I double clicked the market script it cycled through no prob.

After everything settled i noticed i had everything all apps except google market.

so i re ran the script 3 more times and no market

then something went wrong with the driver and i guess it interrupted the running of the supercript or something, i reinstalled the drivers and that was fine

however its stuck on boot on the the part where android pops up on an all black background, and its kind of stuttering and flash and i can no longer use the tablet

    any ideas??

but now its stuck on the android

Adding GPS functionality to a non GPS/bluetooth tablet:

Adding bluetooth via USB dongle would be one method, the other would be using a USB GPS device as the GlobalSat BU-353. Adding bluetooth via a dongle appears to be the most challenging due to the ROM needing driver/firmware for every USB bluetooth dongle that would be used. USB GPS device would be using something similar to a Prolific PL2303 USB to Serial communication method to pass GPS data. Being able to add bluetooth would add the most functionality to a non GPS/bluetooth tablet, one could use multiple bluetooth devices besides something like globalsat bt-368i. After looking about the internet there appears to be some interest in this but it is fragmented on different sites/forums and there would need to be interest to get manufactures to add any bluetooth driver support to their ROM's. I've been researching this for some time and thought I'd see the level of interest here. Cheap tablets don't usually come with Bluetooth/GPS internally but how cool would it be to be able to add that functionality to value priced tablets. This will most likely require a new threat for adding USB GPS/Bluetooth dongle to a Allwinner A10 based tablet as to not hi-jack anybody else's thread. I saw one post in this thread where another user mentions USB GPS, however I'm sure it would gain alot of interest once people can see somebody has tried to get the ball rolling. Check out the app USBGPS alpha 4.apk it's floating around and the guy has done alot of work however not for the Allwinner A10 based tablets unfortunately.

I found that "pwn3d" and "CyanogenMod 9" for multiple Allwinner A10 devices already supported USB Bluetooth as well as USB audio:

Developers are encouraged to check that out:

Edit: Just tried the app called TetherGPS. If you want GPS on value priced tablets bad enough it is possible, if you also have a android phone with GPS. So it's possible the rewards of adding bluetooth usb dongle driver support to the ICS rom wouldn't be worth all the effort.

Hi. I have reverted my tablet back to 2.3.4 GB. ICS seemed to buggy and the fact Netflix would not work is bothersome. It now seems to be performing better. Is there anyway to get ClockWorkMod Recovery on it now that it is back to GB? Thanks.

NewEgg has the iView 760TPC on sale for $99.99 and free shipping, been watching all these new tablets coming out from Google and Amazon and even the ones from Microsoft, funny how they still don't match up to the iView with it's microSD, USB, and mini HDMI ports, of course they all have higher resolution screens and multi-core cpus. I also have to laugh at the accessory prices for these other tablets, I bought a case with USB keyboard for $9.99 on Amazon for my iView, plus a microSD card. I can crunch movies down to 600mb with a program called "handbrake" and load them onto the microSD card and watch them on my flat screen TV via the HMDI out port. For the price of one Kindle Fire I can buy two iView 760TPC tablets and not be a captive slave to amazon.

It's sold on Amazon by various vendors all around the same price of under $10, here's a link:

Went back to ICS, it is better. I figured out what was causing my issues with ICS. It was AnTuTu CPU Master. It seems my tablet does not like being set to 1200 MHz, which it defaults to if you set it above 1000. So mine is at 960 Mhz and hasn't had a single glitch. Also using eyeoncomputers tip about setting the Browser to Android fixed the Netflix issue. It now plays pretty well, not perfect but quite well. So I am happy again?
