Looking forward to your guide. Regarding the menu button, I wonder if you could use ButtonRemapper to workaround that problem:

I have finished my scripts for it to fully enable and install the Google Apps (such as Gmail, Market, YouTube, etc.).
No need for it (maybe).... Ployer leaked out the final 4.0.3 for the 97F1 model (4GB/0.3MP model). I tested it on both the version tablets, works fine... only 0.3MP camera works... for now.
- Its in English and no Chinese bloatware to deal with.
- Partition for the main system and data is now ~1.2GB. (much better than the previous ~250MB partition allocated in the 4.0.1 firmware)
- still smooth and responsive.
Finished the upload... here:
http://www.mediafire.com/?bl1xfgm3h3g4r
- had to split it into two files for mediafire, use 7-zip or WinRAR to extract
P.S. I modified the build.prop in my scripts to enable a lot of locked Market apps and games, I will upload those scripts if you want as well.
Note: they should only be used for 4.0.3 builds.Last edited by eyeoncomputers; 02-17-2012 at 11:09 AM.

Should ICS 4.0.3 firmware work on Aura LY-F1 ? We already have an official one but it is very laggy.

I'd be interested in downloading your script, just to see which properties you modify in build.prop. Now that GAPPS is included in this latest firmware, does your script do anything other than modify build.prop? By the way, thanks for your help... it's very much appreciated. My tablet (err... uh... my son's tablet) should be arriving today, so I can't wait to start playing with.

it should work with the LY-F1, parts are the same.
although there are minor variations for the LY-F1 that can cause something like camera or g-sensor to be incompatible... only a few revisions changed those parts.Keeping an eye out for the consumer and enthusiast.

My scripts were originally made for a vanilla ICS 4.0.3 build that did not come with any GApps or Market.
The 4.0.3 firmware I uploaded has those already.... just the fingerprint is different, so rare apps like Hulu Plus are locked out. Other than that, most 99% of the apps are available.
Since the build is a bit bare, I recommend to install:
- Superuser (set Automatic Response to "Allow")
- ES File Manager (and/or Root Explorer)
- ES Task Manager Free
- Adobe Flash Player
- Adobe Reader
- Google Docs, Earth
- Amazon Appstore (go to amazon site through the android browser)
- Amazon Kindle
- Mobo Video Player (and/or MX Video Player)
- WinAmp
Optional:
- Pandora
- Skype
- Volume+ Free
- Advanced Wifi Lock Free (will help if wifi has connection issues after waking from sleep/standby)Keeping an eye out for the consumer and enthusiast.

I've flashed it on my LY-F1 but capacitive buttons and rotation does not work. It still feels kinda sluggish compared to Gingerbread.

Liking the new firmware
First-time poster here. Go easy on me please.

I'm liking the new firmware. Seems to have a lot fewer bugs than the last 4.0.3 firmware I looked at for this tablet. It seems each version of the firmware has its own unique issues though, so I wanted to post what I've seen so far.
In this particular version, contacts sync fine, although there appears to be no calendar sync adapter. The contacts app doesn't seem to show up either (was a problem on Gingerbread too). The Google TTS engine doesn't seem to work, it just crashes when something tries to use it. Pico works fine. I'm also getting signature errors trying to update the Google apps, which was not a problem with the relatively vanilla 4.0.1 firmware using the fullmarket script.
The last time I flashed my tablet (4gb/0.3mb BTW), I pulled a copy of /system from the stock Gingerbread firmware. Is there anything potentially useful in this backup? (Incidentally, I've also pulled the /system folder from several other ICS ROMs for the MOMO and have backups.)
I'm an experienced Linux user, but relatively new to hacking on Android. I know my way around a shell, if it helps. Is there any way to get the GApps to update and get my full market back?
Thanks much,
Eric
Update: Tried manually adding shortcuts for Contacts using Ghost Commander. All of the shortcuts crash the Contacts app with the exception of Phone, which will only show contacts with phone numbers. For some reason, it also puts a photo wall of (I guess) favorite contact pictures up at the top, requiring one to scroll down to get to anything meaningful.
Update 2: I managed to get the People (contacts) app to work by pushing the version used in the fullmarket script.
Update 3: Still can't get Google Maps to update, however I have a more reasonable looking market. I have pushed the following:
/system/framework/com.google.android.maps.jar
/system/framework/com.google.android.media.effects.jar
/system/framework/com.google.widevine.software.drm.jar
/etc/permissions/com.google.android.maps.xml
/etc/permissions/com.google.android.media.effects.xml
/etc/permissions/com.google.widevine.software.drm.xml
/etc/permissions/features.xml
I also force stopped and cleared data for Market and Google Services Framework.Last edited by EricLarge; 02-17-2012 at 09:03 PM. Reason: Update: Got Market working

Flash in ICS
Hi I've been reading the forum and watching your youtube vids and im thinking of upgrading my ly-lf to ics. Is the Ployer version that you posted more recent than this ??????????????? --- ???? ?
Also, its not clear to me, does the firmware still support Adobe Flash Player for the browser? Can I use iplayer, 4od, youtube and so on with the hdmi out?
Thanks for your help.
