The Chinese manufacturer SmartQ have become very busy recently with the launch of there new elite dual core tablets. One being the SmartQ T20, which outperforms the whole iPad range in benchmarks and yes that includes the new iPad 3!
First off, what stands out to me the most about the new SmartQ S7 is the unique design of the tablet. The build quality for one, is superb and makes the tablet seem like a much more expensive and up market tablet than it actually is. I especially like the rough easy-grip back of the tablet which makes it much more easier to hold than most other tablets which have a shiny plastic back. Right now, this bad boy could easily contend with some of the high end tablets being sold on the high street and for a fraction of the price....SmartQ seems to know what they are doing and I wouldnt be surprised if they hit the big time and start manufacturing their tablets in large quantities to sell to some of the big name high street retailers.
Anyway, lets talk about what actually makes this tablet tick. SmartQ's newest 7" tablet does not intend to compete with other chinese 7"ers such as the AInol Aurora, Ainol Elf etc - because it is in a whole different league of its own and is looking to step things up considerably. Boasting a Texas Instruments dual core CPU (TI OMAP4430 Corex-A9 2x1.0Ghz) and Power VR SGX540 graphics processing unit - its already looking like a winner. The new SmartQ S7 ships with the newest build of Android 4.0.4 ICS and supports Google Play/Android Market out of the box which makes downloading new apps extremely easy. The SmartQ S7 also features the ability to play games in full 3D with its impressive Power VR SGX540 GPU which should be able to handle pretty much any game you throw at it with a high FPS (good performance)
The tablet weighs in at approximately 320g making it almost half the weight of the iPad 2/3 - yes I know its a 7" tablet but still - that's impressively light! it should also be noted that the thickness of the tablet is around 9.50mm when measured - dimensions here: 194.0×124.6×9.5mm
