How to make 3G work on my RK3066 device
Hi everyone,
Im extremely new to android and I joined this forum only beacuse i cant find help anywhere. I dont know even the basics like upgrading your firmware and rooting etc. they sound very complicated. I have an issue which has been troubling me for quite a while now and any help regarding this would be highly appreciated. My issue is connecting my 3G dongle (Huawei E1750) with my tablet. Points to note:
1. My tablet is originally N90 Yuando dual Core with 1.5 Ghz Arm Cortex A9 Rockchip 3066(Atleast thats whats been told to me) but is sold in the name of ***** i9
2. It is already modded or rooted or whatever it is that you guys call it and the system information is as mentioned below:
Android Version : 4.0.4
Model number : rk30sdk
Kernel version : 3.08+ root@tchipserver2#319 SMP PREEMPT Mon Jul 9 10:52:47 CST 2012
Firmware version : (TR976_RK610_RK903_OV2659_RK30HDMI_OTG@120709)_(MC_CN@120709)_V404.11_TL12
Build Number : rk30_ics_v2.23.00 rk30sdk-eng 4.0.4 IMM76D eng.root.20120709.095623 test-keys
(All this is gibberish to me)
3. No matter what I do, I cannot connect my 3G dongle with this tablet( the blue light only keeps flashing and there is never a solid blue light) I have tried everything including going to settings and creating a new APN as the device doesnt even locate the APN as per my simcard(in India)
but have remained unsuccessful in getting the solid blue light. My dongle model number is Huawei E1750 O2 brand and is mentioned as compatible with this device.
I have done all restarts and reboots and factory settings restore but to no avail. So I had to reach out on the net to seek any kind of help possible as I dont know anything about upgrading or downgrading firmware. (As someone mentioned to me that it could be a firmware issue)
I request anyone out there who has either faced the same problem and solved it or has any clue about why this is happening and how I can solve it.
I have tried multiple simcards with this device but the results are still the same, so its not a simcard issue. I had bought an Ainol Aurora II before this with the same specs(but I wanted a bigger screen so got this one) Even the guy I bought it from isnt being able to help.
So all I have is you guys to take me out of this mess.
Thanks in advance.

Are you sure you got an Yuandao N90 Dual? You say you bought Aurora II with same specs? Aurora II is Amlogic not RK3066.

Hi sorry if i confused you.I know Ainol Aurora II is Cortex A9.
I had bought an Ainol Aurora II earlier (on which the 3G dongle worked) and then replaced it for a tablet named ***** i9 which is originally an Yuandao N90 dual core(modded with the specs mentioned in my original post) .
I wanted abiger screen so I exchanged it(Ainol Aurora II was 7 inch)
Unfortunately the 3G dongle(O2 Huawei E1750) doesnt work in this one. Ble light keeps blinking and no APN is detected. I cant understand why.

The names was blocked as there was lots of spam by this rebrand. I have unblocked it now.
Are you sure its a RK3066?
Where did you buy it?
If you can confirm with seller that is really an N90 then you could try to flash with Window's (Yuandao's) latest firmware, Rockchip is good at supporting 3G dongles.

Sorry for the late reply, was having lunch. Yes the seller confirmed that it is Yuandao N90. That Im sure of as its exactly the same. I did a lot of online reviews and watched many videos.
I dont know what 'bricking' means and I have no idea how to flash with latest firmware. I have mentioned my firmware below..is that not the latest? I am sorry but i am a complete noob at this, so I will sound very dumb, so please do be patient.
Yes even I was told that rockchip supports 3G dongles well , so i dont know whats wrong.
If you could send me a link to a step by step guide or make one yourself it would really help. Please do assume that I dont know anything and am a complete layman.
Thanks.
