Does anyone know how to open up the Onda V971?

Im so sick and tired of the crappy wifi that I have decided to open this one up and see if there is anything that can be done. Does anyone know how to? I have removed the four screws but its still rock solid tight around the corners.

Nearly all of the tablets I have open recently has little clips where one side basically fits into the other. I am guessing yours is the same.

Get a thin firm blade and pry it open. Start with the side furthest away from the controls and work your way around. Guitar pics or old credit cards comes in handy to to keep an area open while you work on the rest.

    Good luck.

And if anything goes pop/crackow/smassh (cascading glass sound) KB's mailing address is .........

Just Joking- I saw a guy that used to do tech for me open a tablet once, and the force he had to apply to separate the clips- I thought for sure the screen was gonna break, and I was sweating! Not for the faint of heart- but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do!

The two sides have to fit together very snug to ensure no creaking or funny noises when you twist the tablet. Most of them do need quite a bit of force to separate them. Try to figure out early which side has the clips and work with that in mind. Like DF said, "not for the faint heart".

I did pull mine apart, what a mess. They use glue along the edges, also to hold the battery to the aluminum backplate. Really can't do much even with the cover off. I am so fed up with the erratic wifi, especially since the wifi on my 801 is very good.

I never did try to open mine after I read somewhere about the heavy use of glue. Right now I just want to throw this tablet in the trash where it belongs. I would try to sell it but honestly I dont have the heart to sell such a pathetic device. Will never deal with Onda again. Thats the end of my small passive-aggressive rant

    Glue eh??

Obviously this thing was never meant to be repaired.
Most decent companies including Samsung and Apple are placing a lot of emphasis on repair-ability, and designing so that it is easier to replace parts. Guess that do not apply here. >>>>>What parts >>>LOL.
