LY-F1 is more like a shanzhai, it's cheap, it does what any Allwinner A10 tablet would do. It'll fit ur budget, it'll perform reasonably well for tablets around this proce range. But firmware update is always an issue with these lesser known brands. IIRC, as in the review the durability might be questionable.
The quality of LY-F1 could be like my Uzone F0C, the 3.5mm audio port isn't working after about 2 weeks of usage and one of the shell fastern seems to have broke off. Other than that, everything works well. So it's really up to u to decide.
There's news that Novo7A2 might be coming out in mid Feb. Everything should be the same as Novo7A, except it'll be with 1GB RAM. You might want to consider that.

Is the Gemei considered to be one of your better quality tabs? I really do not know ..but I do know that I have been cautioned about tabs coming out of certain areas of China ..Shenzhen ..primarily.
I was not necessarily going for the lowest price when I bought the Aishuo S2. I was looking at 10 point touch and a Samsung processor + plus the promise of ICS. That same S2 tablet is on the way back because of poor implementation of very good internal parts, and no real followup when the screen went haywire.
I learned my lesson, as did others who bought the S2. Is the Gemei a risk in the same way the S2 was/is?
My opinion is that there is so many good tabs to choose from that are recognized as 'better' China tabs ..with good features ...why take a risk for a small difference in cost?

If you really want to go for the cheap on a 7" ..this one looks impressive for the $ to me ..
McBub: Low-Priced eken m009s,mid v7 tablet,epad,viapad M7 tablet, USD 79.99, VIA WM 8650 7" Tablet PC Android 2.2 Camera WIFI 3G Flash 10.1 MID epad Silver
I like what they show regarding the battery and wi-fi setup ..bout mid way down with the pix.
Personally I have an 8" Onda coming fron Merimobiles ..but I was really tempted by this for the price. McBub also has been responsive as a responsible vendor.
I wish you well.

um. pearls in the swill are hard thing. the issue is build quality and support more than anything else. So even if the unit is tested and brilliant, yours may break after a short time, or find yourself with an incomplete ICS implementation. That said um... honestly the "bargains" in the lot IMHO is the Onda VX610W Deluxe and the Teclast P7Ti. My reasoning is that these are the "Cheaper" A10 based tablets and they still have good support and a large name behind them.

Short and to the point. I have spent 64.00 sending back two tablets. McBub has said they will give me 15.00 toward the S2 going back ...easing the pain a bit.
I just went back and reviewed a thread on the Aishuo S2, and the same probs I had hit others ..and at least one party I know that got stuck with the bad tab because it way too expensive for him to send back from Finland.
If at all possible ..buy as good as you can. It could save you in the long run.

If it were capacitive i would probably jump on it - but the review that says 'works better with stylus than my finger' confirms it isnt. I have trouble using a pen a lot of the time so resistive would be out
Good to hear, and much apprteciated

Sorry I didn't read everything, but I think there's a question about Gemei quality. Someone mentioned to me, he has a Gemei pmp sometime back and it's still working well. I'd seen the disassembly shots and it's not really well built inside, but it's the 1st 1GB 7" A10 tablet. I would suggested getting it yesterday, BUT today I suggest u get the Novo7A2.
Gemei G2 is selling in China for 599 RMB and Novo7A2 is selling for 699 RMB. 100 RMB difference is <US$18. Novo7A2 is said to be the same as Novo7A excpet for 1GB RAM. This means whatever support u find online for Novo7A is likely to work on Novo7A2. Custom rom is already in the works
My Novo7A is from Merimobiles, when I recieved it, I accidentally dropped the package^^; everything is ok, cause Merimobiles wrapped everything in tight layer (or was it 2-3 layers) of bubble wrappers. But that's just my experience, you should also readup on others review

Gemei G2 seems to be about $150, doesnt seem all that worth it tbh. Novo7A seems the same. Thats about 50% more than the LY-F1.
Am i missing something? Should be about $20 to send tablet back if it dies from australia?
