Need help with brand/model for upgrade

    Hi everyone,

Need some help with the brand and firmware for my tablet.
I bought a tablet on BuyinCoins. When I bought it, they advertised with a 10 inch, Android 4.0.3, Capacitive screen and a 1,5Ghz processor.
After 3 days they changed the advertising with a resistive screen and Andriod 2.3.4. When I reveived the tablet, the processor was only an 1Ghz.
Now I'm in dispute with them.

I want to upgrade to Android 4.0.3, but I can't find any information on the brand/model or similar.

Does somebody know what kind a brand/model the tablet is? Or which firmware I could use?

    The specs/pictures of the tablet:
    10 ePad A10 1.5GHz Google Android 2.3 Wifi PC Tablet Webcam 4GB 512MB DDR3 #04 - BuyinCoins.com

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you very much.

go to settings, then about and post the current rom details you have on your device, from there we could possibly find out what you have, one of the problems is that if its an a10, you narrow down you possibilities to maybe 20 odd devices,a that are slightly unique, hopefully we can find out more from the info in your about page.

You are right, Settings > About is the first place to check details on the device.

Let us know what you find out.

Having reviewed the site and the forums, it appears its only 10" Resistive Screen, 512mb and 1024x600.
Seems a lot of people are annoyed its not advertised correctly.
Also appears its 2.0.3 and since early april people on the site have been asking for ICS firmware with no reply.

Having spent some time searching for equivalent specs, and even through sites to compare the visuals of the tablet, it looks like you may have got a tablet that is no longer supported, the tablet market in china is huge, this device didn't even get to the point of being marked by a manufacturer. These tablets are usually one of runs were they produce maybe 1000 and then see how it goes.
Considering its a resistive screen, I am guessing this is from a old run, as most tablets being produced now are nearly all capacitive.
I am afraid its not looking promising for you.
we know you have a a10, but we have no idea of the keys, buttons, or device specific hardware, most tablets are the same but as you can see with the current cwm5-cm9 build, each tablet needs a compatibility zip to make it work, and most of this is done by reverse engineering the firmware files, and I cannot even find a link to the firmware file you are using at the moment. (not a good sign)

    Sorry.

    Hi Yellowperil,

At least you helped me, i really appreciate that.

I'm a man and read the manual after a few weeks.
On front of the manual it says in lowercase TP-107A. In Google I found 'I think' the manufacturer. It's Liming Industry. ( TP-107A----ZHUHAI LIMING INDUSTRIES CO.,LTD. ). I'm going to contact them if the could provide me an ICS firmware.

Is it possible to make a backup of the firmware (image) of the tablet? If yes, what is the best way to do that?

    Thnx.

I dont understand what are you trying to upgrade the build.prop is specific to the OS your running and defines abilities and basic information, most of the real hardware specs are used in boot.img file at bootup into the os, this is a os specific file.

the model name would be good to go off, but I cant find anything under that, more than likely a unbranded tablet, or tablet run that was very small.

finding the info from the build.prop is no good as it does not contain enough information.
if you find any post helpful, remember to hit thanks to that poster.......
