Linux for AllWinner A10 devices
Just find out this: https://www.miniand.com/forums/forums/2/topics/1
I tested it in my Aurora, the only thing you need to do is write the SD image to a SD and power up the tablet, it will boot directly intro Ubuntu, whiout doing anything to the Android in the internal SD.
The image is for TV Box devices, and its not finished yet, still lacks hardware acceleration for Mali-400 and hardware video decoder support. And it will only output video to HDMI.

Thats pretty cool, does touch screen work or you need to use keyboard and mouse?

keyboard and mouse, remember that it only outputs video to HDMI.
The thing is, the image is tailored for Mele A1000 and MK802 TVBox, and its not even finished yet, but with a little work can be made working for tablets screen as well.
Note that every A10 device out there is capable of booting Linux on a external SD out of the box... and there is a WIP for a XBMC for A10 too.

Did you manage to browse websites over wifi? I could connect to router and even download apps but could not get Firefox to open any page.

yeah, do these commands in a terminal.
sudo su
groupadd -g 3003 inet
groupadd -g 3005 inetadmin
usermod -aG inet miniand
usermod -aG inetadmin miniand
and log out/log in or reboot
If you create a new user you need to do the last 2 again with the new username.

Hi Shivansps,
I have installed Lubuntu (downloaded from miniand) into my Uhost U1A and setup the Wireless connection but it doesn't see the router at all.
Will the commands provided above fix the issue?
Or should I install Ubuntu instead?
Many thanks,
D@
