Just received ($79.99 on sale) an Iview 756TPC yesterday. It works well and has Android 4.0.3 and Google PlayStore.

No need for me to modify yet ; )

New model I suppose with Playstore installed no need for me to modify.

Also just got a Toshiba Excite 10 AT305 and the Iview 756TPC is nearly as responsive for $79.99

It died Friday morning, reset itself with no wifi afterwards. On its way rma for replacement : ( I guess I'll try one more before refund.

Sorry to hear that, these issues are more common with such cheap devices.

Sad but true. . .

I am still of the mindset that good stuff can be had for less. That said my daughter has the ipad3 and I the toshiba excite 10 at305 both are working well for a month now ; )

I got the iview to learn more about about the os within as my interest is more of how it works rather than a function to purpose device. My daughter uses the ipad3 in college but must have inheirited some of my traits as she tethered the ipad to her iphone already ; )

And, will 760TPC mods work with the 756?

So I have seen a few threads on how to port CM9 and some other general purpose apps that I should add to this tablet, but I was wondering if anyone has yet to successfully install a modded rom to this device.

If anybody has found something that works at least as well as the stock ICS that iView has recently updated, please post or PM me.

BTW, my cheapo tablet is working wonderfully. I hope that RMA works as well as this one does, wildjim.
