Hi pascallj, it looks you accepted the tablet with the issue! However please tell me:

How many hours does it take to charge %100 full battery of the Novo7 tablet?

I tried and it charged only %21 in 10 hours (from USB port with a 5V USB charger). (There is no AC/DC 5V 2A 1.35 x 3.5mm power supply adaptor of the tablet in the box).

Is it normal time? How is yours?

That's true. I don't have a lot of time to use the tablet right now and to experiment with apps etc. So i just accepted the issue.

Well, I am never able to perform a full charge. As I said, if I turn the device off and leave it off for a while, the battery percentage is a lot higher. So I guess, the device is actually full charged after a couple of hours, but it is just showing you the wrong percentage.
So unfortunately, I can't tell you how long it takes.

I don't have an AC/DC charger either.

also, does this same old rooting method work on 4.03 as well?
