Ainol Novo7 Basic Android 2.2 Upgrade Guide

Hello!

Today upgraded my Novo7 Basic to the 20222208. Then went to settings to switch off the Wi-Fi and it hung. Now I cannot shut down or reset it - no button is working.

Could you please advise me how to revive it? Thank you.

What is 20222208 ??

Have you tested to reset the device?

Just noticed a missing CRUCIAL step in the upgrade instructions.

Unpack the firmware file update.zip
Copy update.zip to an empty micro sd card
Turn of the device (make sure its charged before you proceed)
INSERT MICRO SD CARD INTO THE DEVICE !!!
Press and hold the Volume + key and press power button
When you see the Ainol logo on screen release the Volume +
Wait till the upgrade is complete (this will take few min)
Device will reboot after upgrade


One problem after doing the 2.2 install, was that the unit would not shut down completely when I tried to turn it off, it will go as far as saying that it is shutting down, vibrates a little and then freezes with the shutting down message on the screen.

guys did u have face problem to install any games or apps?
because so far, i just can install games from market only, if i download it apk from somewhere else it cannot install. please help

Sorry that was a version 20111108. Well, finally I updated to the 3.2 and it works fine. Just one problem - cannot install programs from the SD card. Hope find solution soon.

Advise please which games and programs you were able to install from SD card?
I tried about 10 applications from appinstaller to talking tom but installed only one - ccleaner.

I dont have many game APKs here, the only i managed to install and run now was Speed Forge 3D.
And again, most apps will not work in 3.2.
