oh happy day, oh happy day...

I've found a drop-in replacement for Readitlater. The readitlaterlist.com official site actually lists a number of android-compatible clients, and the one I've liked the most is called "Laters". Here's the link to the author: https://market.android.com/developer?pub=Tom+Philip

Now I can say that all my key requirements for my first tablet are met

    hi

So far the let down has been the screen, which registers touches without me doing anything. Also, I get kicked out of the browser and into the main screen randomly. An occasional reboot seems to help.

knock on wood, I haven't seen the phantom touch issue. I use Dolphin browser, haven't had any problems with that so far.

    Hi,

That will be 2x NO, I think
It only has a mini USB port and a MicroSD card slot, nothing else.

News: the same guy who sold me mine on eBay is now charging £80 instead of £100.

    Mine arived yesterday

Paid £75 on an ebay auction, packing was crushed and the screen makes a tiny rattle in the top left corner.. may even be the button on the side but regardless it functions completely fine, and I got £20 off.. Brand new Paladin White for £55 -
First impressions are very optomistic. Deleted anything that opened in chinese which left me a fairly barron machine but looking around at all the apps that the techie geniuses are now making work I am made up.
Bought it knowing it wouldn't play angry birds, facebook or you tube and now it seems that you can, on all of those, I just wanted something better than a psp to watch video's on a train and this certainly does that well.
Low(ish) res screen but perfectly acceptable, fairly quick and far more useful than I had read it to be before buying.
More than worth the money so far.. but like i say I have only had it a few hours.. Anyone got any recommendations on definate must do things to do/download for a new machine? I have loaded nothing yet as I spent my time charging andgetting used to it?

    Cheers..

.... and with no warning or other symptoms, my tablet stopped working.
Is there a hardware reset I could use?

    Thumbs up updated ICS

    Hi All,

Yesterday updated Android 4.01 to Android 4.03 using the package from the Ainol website:
    novo7paladin-features

and I have to say that the performance improved a lot.
I have not had any phantom touches since the update, as overall the screen sensitivity has been lowered.
Overall, it feels faster. I can't tell if it's because of the "factory reset" removing any dodgy software or because of ICS 4.03, but it's good.

The downside: Google Play store won't run anymore. I see from other threads that others have noticed this, so there's some more reading to do. In the meantime, keep your APK files handy and DO install this 4.03 update as it's worth it.
