Novo 7 Aurora II Unboxing by Partybob

    Hi All!

I just got a brand new Ainol Aurora II in the mail. Thought i'd do a small unboxing. As we all know the Ainol Aurora II is the followup to the successfull Aurora. What set the aurora 1 appart from a lot of other Chinese tablets was that it had a IPS display. The followup does that too. And let me tell you it is a thing of beauty.
It also has a dual core cpu, 1Gb ram and 16gb internal storage (expandable with sdcard). 1024 x 600 pixels IPS display with 178 degrees viewing angle, 5 point touch and Hdmi mini output.

But enough of me yapping, lets show some pics.

As you can see the box looks really nice.

The back has a lot of info about the tablet.

The first thing that greets you when you open the box is ofcource the tablet itself. Under the tablet we find the mini (?) usb cable, a pair of headphones and some manuals in Chinese. Why the tablet has a mini usb port instead of a microusb port is a mystery to me . But well. Lets carry on.

And here is a image of the tablet booting up for the first time. Trust me when i say the photo doesnt do the screen justice. It is absolutely gorgeous.

Lets take some screenshots of the os and some useful info.
The first picture is ofcource the homescreen. Sadly a lot of bloat apps is included.

I just installed the latest firmware update (20120626) but still no 4.0.4

And something that seems to be standard for all Chinese tablets.. No calendar sync for gmail...

Next lets look at some Android System Info.

I will return for a more indepth review of the tablet. Not just Benchmarks but my personal thoughts of the tablet and if i could recommend anyone to buy it.

Sadly it seems like the tablet i got has some type of problem with the touch.. It is really unresponsive and when you press it a little harder than normal use you get some sort of "lightning" effect behind the glass. Doesn't look healthy at all.

Lets stop rambling. I shall return with more info at a later time...

    Edit
I have spent some time with the tablet now. Testing a lot of games. I plan to film when showing of the tablet but my tripod hasn't arrived yet. It should arrive tomorrow. Hopefully..

It is a wall-charger. But there is also a usb cable included. You should be able to charge with that to..
