I agree. Great review as I have this tablet as well but I'd love to know where we can download both the original and ICS ROMs from. The upgrade procedure in the manual seems straight forward enough; i.e. copy the ZIP file to the root of the SD, reboot the device into a bootloader like mode and then it auto updates from the package. I'd be a bit worried about bricking it though - anyone got any experience with upgrading the OS on these/similar types of Chinese tabs?

Yeah, eventually I managed to talk to someone at the factory and they told me exactly which models. Very few tho, I'll post the list tomorrow.

Hi everyone. Just got this device yesterday, i love it but i`ll love it more if i can change the rom. So what is the flash procedure? the LiveSuitePack usb mode or with the update.zip on the cards root?
Also can we use ICS from other similar models found here on this forum?

    Thanks

    ICS BETA Update:

    Official Website
    Download Link

    Flashing tool and Drivers

Downloading right now, will share my experience as fast as possible

    Instructions to Update:
    • Download and Unpack Firmware (will result in 2 Files, one .img and one .key)
    • Rename the .img, delete all these weird chinese chars
    • Download the Flash tool here
    • Start "F1-Phoenix\PhoenixUSBPro\PhoenixUSBPro.exe"
    • Select the .key and .img file and Press start
    • The red Icon in the top-right corner should now be a green tick
    • Press and hold the volume+ Button on your tablet and plug in USB
    • while still holding the volume+ button, press power button about 5 times.
    • Install the drivers (you find them in the PhoenixUSBPro directory)
    • Flashing will start automatically without any noticeable change, trust me it does
    • Wait 5-10Minutes, Phoenix USB Pro will show when it's done
    • Hold the power button 10 seconds
    • Boot as usual (first boot may take a bit longer)

    Short Review of ICS Beta:

The Interface had almost no lags and is much more coherent than the Android 2.3 UI, i got used to it in just a few minutes and had a much faster Work flow. I couldn't figure out any bugs, besides some crashes of the Market App.
The default font size is rather small. (I love it, more text on one screen page, but people with blurry eyes will complain)

    The new Apps are awesome:
    • New Calendar is more clearly arranged
    • Browser is completely revised - faster, more functions and Options (change user-agent, cookie management, Incognite-Mode, Speed-Dial etc.)
    • Email and Gmail app are nice
    • If you download recent Google Music, you finally have an Equilizer

Conclusion: Although it is considered as beta, i can highly recommend updating to 4.0.
It's fast, it's sexy, it's the most recent Version with the most features and it's (as far as i can say this from now) bugfree.

/!\ The device Software-resets itself after reboot when you install a new busybox version /!\
(Updating Busybox it is not needed, the Firmware has a decent Version and comes rooted)
