If Google is really making a 7" Tegra3 tablet for less than $199, it would certainly gives these Chinese cheap brands a run for the money. I have faith in Google, that's why I am holding off buying Chinese or anything equivalent until the Google Tablet comes out in July. Just 3 more months waiting....

I am planning on buying a Chinese tablet soon but there are so many different ones, so hard to make a good choice. Can someone help me decide? I want to get one for 500 - 700rmb. So a real cheap one. If I buy something that is no good then I don't lose too much money.
I was thinking of buying an onda tablet.
http://www.amazon.cn/gp/product/B005...rd_i=888465051
This is the Onda VX610W it is priced at 399RMB on amazon.cn
But then there is alos this one
http://www.amazon.cn/ONDA-%E6%98%82%...4024100&sr=1-3
It also is called Onda VX610W but this one is 488rmb. What is the difference exactly?
Only difference I can see is that it is black? Would this be good choice for my first tablet? I have no android tablet experience.

I was browsing around when I noticed Kindle Fire. Then I wonder, why buy Chinese when you can get a Kiindle Fire with a 7" IPS screen, a dual-core TI OMAP and all for less than $200?
So what's wrong with a Kindle Fire apart from its custom UI?

No connectivity compared to other android tablets. No memory expansion-8gb onboard, only 6gb really available. For me, $200 is a lot for a 7" device, even with dual-core cpu. If you are already an Amazon Prime member though, it may be worth it.

The kindle fire is a really nice machine. I have played with one a bit.
Here is my impression.
Pros... Dual core with a modified Android 2.3 OS. It is actually faster and smoother than any 7 inch tablet I have ever played with. IPC screen is on par with the Aurora (I compared them side by side). Very solidly built. Battery life is good. Solid after-sales support from a highly visible company.
Cons.... It has only a 8gb mem and there are reports that it is configured to accept only 2gb of non-Amazon data. (I am not sure if that still exits as there were heated complaints about this and some restriction were address). It cannot accept any SD card. There is no camera.
Depending on what uses you intends for the unit, this may be right for you. For me, if this unit had sd card capabilities, i would have gladly paid the asking price.

I guess eBooks don't need more than 6 GB unless you plan to store the Reference Library into it. But yes, personally I don't care how little the internal storage has but no SD slot, even if it's 100-core, that unit is totally useless. Enough said.
Thanks for info, guys!

You may want to take a look at the Nook. Barnes & Noble has recently dropped the price.
It may be a winner.

If you've done your research- good reviews(video reviews are VERY handy), from a reputable seller..etc. Also if you're willing to pay
sometimes they can be worth the price!
