    New MediaTek 8389T?

The Cube Talk9 U39GT claims to use a MediaTek 8389T... a variant of the 8389 we haven't seen yet! While could simply be a typo on the site, MediaTek has T versions of other processors, and I also found this site with an ad specifically saying 8389T: 【爆料:首发8389T 酷比魔方要出大屏通话平板了!】-CUBE(酷比魔方)酷比魔方论坛-ZOL中关村在线 The Lenovo S5000 also claims to use 8389T: Lenovo S5000 tablet | Android revija.

So, does anybody know anything about this? I'll even take even guesses and speculation.

ASAIK 8389 and 8389T are same.
Maybe the T is there to make us think its newer or it just stands for Tablet?

Maybe it could be newer. Mediatek already positions 8389 for tablets on their official site, so there can't be a tablet version of a tablet product.

What i mean is that the tablet manufacturer could have added the T to make us think its newer so they can sell more tablets.

Why would Mediatek release a new chipset without any info on their page?

I saw an ad from one of the tablet/ phone manufacturers that claims that the T stands for Turbo and that the turbo is rated at 1500ghz as opposed to 1200 of the standard 8389.

Take a look at this review.

First Mediatek MT6589T Turbo benchmarks reveals faster than HTC One X performance
Thanks for sharing, lets see if we get some more insight to this new "Turbo" version.

Could this be another of these marketing "lies" ??

Mediatek have been doing this for some time now, with the 6589 chips the 'T' version has higher clock speed.

I have also seen some benchmarks for the T version that now very closely resemble that of the Rk3188 chipset. That may make sense seeing that the clock speed is 1600 vs 1500.
