    Geniatech ATV120 review by andropos

    inline image
Another long awaited TV stick is the Geniatech ATV120. Its powered by Amlogic AML8726-MX Dual-core Cortex-A9, clocked at 1.5GHz and 1GB of RAM, running on Android 4.1. The buzz about the ATV120 is the new fast dual-core CPU, the HW decoding support in XMBC and support for USB DVB-T tuners.

There has been lots of delays with the release of this device due to some Wifi module issues but i have finally received an early sample and will lay out my review of it here.

    The good
    • Amlogic solution is more open platform
    • Dual-core Cortex-A9
    • HW decoding support in XMBC
    • Support for USB DVB-T tuners
    • IR port
    • Good support by Geniatech manufacturer

    The bad
    • Hard to find online
    • Poor gaming performance

Depends on your needs, if you need these:

    HW decoding support in XMBC
    Support for USB DVB-T tuners
    IR port

and you will use it for watching HD videos in hi-end codecs, then ATV120.

If more regular use with more performance on gaming then Uhost2.

Also the ATV120 is not ready for retail so we dont know the final price.
