I am still a bit confused.

    1. After downloading the NT script rar, I extract all items into a folder on my desktop.
    2. I open the folders 'apps' and 'ICS\gapps' and delete whichever apk files I desire (they will delete ..I just tried)
    3.I load the script.

SO ...are you telling me the install leaves something in the system folder (on the tab) that needs to be removed?

On the same subject, using ES File Explorer on my Onda Vi30W, there are apps I can see in the 'system/app' folder that I cannot get rid of. Is there an easy method explained or point me to a tutorial to get rid of this bloatware (as I am sure it is slowing down the tab)?

I deleted NONE of the apk files BEFORE installing the script on the Onda.

Thanks again. Hate to be so thick!

you have to delete the files from the your device before installing the script to free some space on your device these files are already installed by teclast (i.e QQpad, Robodefence, Wiebo,) in the system/app and another folder preinstall which i was saying you should delete, like the bloat ware in your other device. and for deleting these files you need "Root explorer file manager" just google it
another way is to use ES file explorer which is already installed. here are the steps
    1. open Es file explorer
    2. goto settings and scroll down the settings
    3. in the root settinngs Check the "Root Explorer"
    4. just below this option there is another option "Mount File system " check this one too
    5. now browse to the /system/app folder and delete any file you dont like

So these are apk files installed by the upgrade ..NOT the script !

Once I get those out the way, then I can select the apk files I wish to install with the script.

Got it. Clean and sweet ...the best way!

Thanks very much ..and thanks for the other info. Now I can clean out the Onda Vi30W!

I have a big problem with the gapps...

I receive fc on "core" process in some sitiuatios:
    - When I sync with google account the first time
    - Everytime I open facebook app (gives facebook fc)
    - If I open gtalk, "core" makes fc every 10 seconds until I reinstall all. With this, there is no other way (neither reboot)

I know is something related with contacts sync. Here is the logcat with gtalk (this app relaunch itself 5 seconds after crash, and again fc...):

BP just curious as to why you decided to upgrade to ICS so quickly. Was there something about Gingerbread 2.3.4 that you found lacking?

My A10T left Hong Kong this morning..or was it last night? Not sure with the time difference!

    Android.process.acore can be corrected.
please check your system/app folder. i think it does not have the contacts.apk . you need to copy this file to system/app folder and set the permissions like the other files (any ICS contacts.apk is ok). Root explorer is the best choice or if you know how to use it then you can use adb to copy and set the permission on that file. after doing this reboot the tablet it will fix the problem!

if you still have the problem then go to settings ->apps->All tab then find all the applications which have the contact in their name and then clear the data and cache for that applications and then restart.

I hope it will solve your problem

I actually have not did the deed yet, but I will hopefully soon.

Trying out new software/apk's is really kewl, and I found one of my favs that does not work as well on 2.3.

The A10 works just fine with 2.3 as it came from McBub, but when I installed my favorite launcher ..'Go Launcher' I found certain operation anomalies that were not there when I installed 4.0 on the Onda Vi30W. I am hoping that when I get 4.0 on the A10t, this anomaly/glitch will not be there with the launcher.

Plus I just love the way 4.0 works. It is designed more for a tablet, not a phone.

Also, I have found that I can do a clean install of 4.0 with the above info I have learned of late ..getting rid of apps that I do not want once I have installed 4.0.

Just for info, even with the info I have learned about bloatware I can't get to the root on the A10t as received with 2.3. When I try to employ root access, I get two choices ' Cyanogen Mod' & HAIPK to choose from. I can choose either, and I get 'Sorry Test Failed'. I am betting this will not happen with 4.0.

As 4.0 matures, and it should really quick ..as there is a new OS on the horizon ..it will be the best ..not doubt.

Thanks BP.....I have no doubt that it won't be too long before I follow your path, as I find I'm normally in the same boat, if there's a new firmware/software or whatever I must try it, just in case there's some new wizard gizmo that was missing in the older version
